The subs are OHM MR450D 18inch subs, another great london hifi company. I have since been a true Horn technology lover, having missed the la scala splits a few years ago, I ended up getting a pair of Turbosound TMS-1 speakers (3-way horns) and have been very happy with thier performance I use a driverack 260 and Smaart to get them gelling, but thier 60 degree horizontal pattern can be tuff to work with, I'd like 2 on each side of the stage, but it's near impossible to find another pair. The only reason I have a home theater and even know what one is is because of a friend of mine that likes to invite me to his HT, he has a pair of klipschorns with a cornwall center and 3D projection, and many other speakers and subs, listening in his living room is amazing and awe inspiring, with the right source material anyway. I do live sound for bands in a variety of venues/outside situations, I also have a home theater that I actually set up my live sound speakers in. I have been trying to get my hands on a pair of those for 5 years, I once came close but getting the funds came 2 weeks too late and someone else got them. Sir, if you have not yet sold those LaScala Splits, then you are in possession of my dream speakers. Please check my feedback on Audiogon, Videogon and Ebay (ID=baileyler) and buy with confidence. IF YOU PAY VIA PAYPAL, HOWEVER, A CONDITION OF YOUR PAYMENT IS THAT YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE THE RIGHT TO FILE A PAYPAL CLAIM OR CHARGE BACK (but do retain the right to sue me in court should you so desire). I also accept Paypal for convenience, but add 3% to use Paypal. Payment can also be via money order/cashier's check/personal check preferred but, except for US Postal Money Orders, all must clear my bank first. I am willing to demo, which I would recommend prior to purchase.Ĭash is always welcome for a local transaction. Please note that these speakers are being sold 'AS IS'. I can provide additional pictures or info on request. I will, however, be more open to offers if combining this with other items I have listed, or that I otherwise have for sale, including (but not limited to) a 2A3 parallel push pull set of monoblocks, a Tice Power Block + Titan combo, a really nice Hafler DH-110 and various vacuum tubes. Offers may be considered on the speakers (or speaker/X-over combo), but it is unlikely that I will move off this price for the foreseeable future. While that external crossover is NOT included in the price, and is NOT for sale separately, I am willing to make it available for an upcharge of $450 with the purchase of the speakers. The internal crossover works just fine, but I have been using them biamped with an external crossover (Marchand XM-9 with upgraded attenuators and op amps). The sound quality, however, would seem to bear that representation out. The person I originally purchased them from represented that they had been fully checked prior to that sale, but I cannot verify that.
Klipsch la scala for sale drivers#
I have never opened them up for inspection, but I believe the drivers and internal electronics are original. The physical issues could easily be touched up, but I simply have not seen the need to change anything from the shape in which I received them. None of these minor issues affect operation in any way. There is also one screw missing from the faceplate of the tops of one of the units. Physically, there are some small nicks and rubbing of the cabinets, but they are structurally sound and solid. These are the highly desirable industrial split version of the La Scalas. Although I really like these speakers, I am looking at another set of large speakers and don't have room for both pairs.
